Oct 17, 2008· I have a small Kent (JM 450) mill here that has full enclosure, 9k spindle with Anilam 6000M control, which I run in G code. Abot the same size travels as a mini mill. It is a full cast iron base whereas the Haas is welded steel. The spindle is also beefier. I haven't really had any problems with it in a few years that I've had it.

Nov 15, 2018· I have read of guys running the vf2 mills off 40 amp single phase powering rotary's. why the hell Haas has there machines marked as needing 80 amps I just don't understand. Only the Doosan DNM5700 needed more than a 60 amp breaker. As for wanting a mill to run off single phase seems kind of nuts to me in that.

Mar 02, 2016· Back in 2009 when I was looking for a first mill looked at the TM-1, mini mill and supper mini but ended up with a Hurco VM-10. Optioned about the same the Hurco was close on price but has a few more HP and 10 more tools. More tools may not be an issue now but in a year or two it will be!. Get an enclosed machine or wear a rain coat on the job.
